Sultanate of Oman Scholarships 2023/2024

Scholarship’s Objectives:

1. Strengthening ties and cooperation between brotherly and friendly countries.

2. Providing multiple fields of study abroad for Kuwaiti students in specializations needed by the State of Kuwait.

3. Exchange of cultures and expertise between the countries.

Scholarship’s Advantages:

1. The Grant student enjoys free tuition fees, university housing, and treatment in most sponsored countries. Some sponsored countries also provide the annual ticket and a symbolic monthly allowance.

2. The Ministry of Higher Education provides monthly financial stipends, annual travel tickets, and a travel preparation allowance for the Grant student accepted in those countries, with the majors that the Ministry delegates according to the annual scholarship plan.

3. The Grant applicant for whom financial allowances are disbursed enjoys all the privileges of a scholarship student.

College of Medicine and Health Sciences Majors at Sultan Qaboos University

Conditions for admission of Kuwaiti students to the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sultan Qaboos University for the following three majors:

• Doctor of Medicine specialization

• Specialization in Health Sciences (Bachelor)

• Specialization in medical and biological sciences (Bachelor)

• 94% as a minimum high school average

• 80% minimum in pure mathematics and basic English

• 80% as a minimum in only two subjects: Chemistry. Biology. Physics.

College of Science majors at Sultan Qaboos University

Conditions for admission of Kuwaiti students to the College of Science at Sultan Qaboos University for the following nine majors:

· Biology major

· Environmental biology major

· Biotechnology major

· Earth Sciences

· Physics Major

· Geophysics Major

· Chemistry major

· Applied Chemistry Major

· computer science

· 80% as a minimum high school average

· 65% minimum in pure mathematics and basic English

· 65% as a minimum in only two subjects: Chemistry. Biology. Physics.

College of Engineering at Sultan Qaboos University

Conditions for admission of Kuwaiti students to the College of Engineering at Sultan Qaboos University for the following eight majors:

· Civil Engineering

· Architecture

· Mechanical Engineering

· Industrial Engineering

· Mechatronic Engineering

· Oil and Natural Gas Engineering

· Electrical and Operations Engineering

· Electrical and Computer Engineering

· 85% as a minimum high school average

· 65% as a minimum in the following subjects: Pure Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, basic English.

College of Economics and Political Science at Sultan Qaboos University	Conditions for admission of Kuwaiti students to the College of Political Science majoring in political science (conditions specific to this major only)
· Political Science	· 80% as a minimum high school average · 80% minimum in Arabic Language and basic English · 65% as a minimum in Pure Mathematics or Applied Mathematics
· Operations Management · Commercial statistics · Economics · Finance · Accounting	Conditions for admission of Kuwaiti students to the College of Economics and Political Science for the following six majors excluding Political Science major:
	· 80% as a minimum high school average · 80% as a minimum in Applied Mathematics · 70% as a minimum in Pure Mathematics · 65% as a minimum in Basic English Language

Notes:

1. The dates for sending candidate applications for Kuwaiti students to study at Sultan Qaboos University: from Sunday 9^th July 2023 to Thursday 10^th August 2023.

2. The expected date for announcing the admissions results: Thursday 17^th August 2023.

3. The specified date for the arrival of Kuwaiti students to their place of study: Sunday 27^th August 2023.

4. Induction week and placement tests for the Foundation Program: from Sunday 27^th August 2023 to Thursday 7^th September 2023.

5. Beginning of studies at Sultan Qaboos University: Sunday 10^th September 2023.

6. Sultan Qaboos University provides transportation, food, and housing (for female students only) with tickets for Kuwaiti Grants students at the undergraduate stage.

Scholarship Plan

Requirements to be met by the Applicant:

1. Kuwaiti Citizen

2. Of good conduct

3. A bachelor's student must devote himself entirely to study, and it is not permissible to combine with any scholarship or scholarship offered by another body.

4. The postgraduate student must be academically certified by his employer to obtain the required academic degree.

5. Must fulfill the conditions set by the host (country/entity) and the Ministry.

6. The student must abide by all decisions issued by the Ministry.
